What If?

What if? (The Bohemian Trilogy)

What if you were shopping round Sim Lim Square and a salesman in a dark suit and dark shades stepped up and offered you a thumbdrive.

“This thumbdrive carries all detailed information of your future. Every single instance, every single detail is stored in this thumbdrive. You would know your whole future.”

Now what if he offers to sell it to you and he does remind that the future cannot be changed even if you knew in advance?

Would you buy?

What if you bought it and found out you would lose all your loved ones, one by one, and eventually you would die alone.

Would you regret buying?

What if you bought it and found out you never had the chance to say goodbye to your loved ones becuz you passed on before your time.

Would you ask for a refund?

What if we know our future and yet may never be ready to accept it?

I rather live an unpredictable life than for all the riches of the world.

*Warning: Rant incoming - Nothing to do with XiaoQiang, Just something in general, that I’ve kept to myself for a long time*

I honestly, find it appalling that too many are driven by materialism and fail to see life as it is … money does not define you, status does not define you, popularity does not define you … we define who we are, what we do in life, the decisions we make define us, … defines our legacy.

Why do we not treasure character over the superficial substance of money? I understand why it so, in our economically-obsessed generation but not at the cost of our values, values which make us proud, upstanding people.

All have but one destiny, that would be your purpose in life. Nothing is fixed, its not the end result that counts, but how you live your live, how you reach that destination.

Things change, people come and go, ideals change…. its all about choices and how you choose to live, that defines how well you live.

Life’s paradox is always how differently things will turn out. Not to say to not give in your all, heaven is fair; you reap what you sow. But sometimes, you have too much of something, you have lesser of other things. Nobody has everything.

May be good to know what life’s in store, but better to know how to live life and make better choices.
